What do adult women obsess over more than finances, health, family, relationships or professional success? Their appearance. The Real Body Image Survey by the Today Show and AOL found in an online poll of 2,000 women and 200 teenagers, that women spend an average of 55 minutes every day working on their appearance. Their worries range from their stomach (69 percent) to skin (40 percent) to thighs (39 percent) andhair (32 percent). According to the survey, 77 percent of adult women and 80 percent of teen girls have something bad to say about their looks.
With so much importance placed on personal image, it’s no wonder women cover their complexion with layers of foundation and concealer in the quest for flawless skin. But, instead of trying to hide skin concerns under makeup, why not address the cause with effective ingredients and clinically proven technologies and tools?
You can empower your skin and develop the confidence to go makeup-free with Rodan + Fields skincare Regimens, which are designed to address a variety of skin types and concerns—whether it’s wrinkles, lines, dullness, sensitivity or acne.
Start using your Regimen now and you should see better-looking skin by next month, as we host our second annual #RFGoNaked Day. For every selfie posted, R+F will donate $4—the cost of one student program day—to buildOn, a non-profit that works to break the cycle of poverty, illiteracy and low expectations for urban students through impactful community action and local service programs.

Are you the first one in the room to crack a big grin when you hear a funny joke? Some people claim that a good sense of humor runs in the family, but new research shows that how you laugh or smile may, in fact, depend on your genetics.
According to a June 2015 study by University of California, Berkeley, our emotional reactivity may be linked to the gene 5-HTTLPR in our DNA. The study suggests that people with short versions of the gene may be more sensitive and show greater genuine reactions to emotional situations. What’s the trick to measuring “real” smiles and laughter? In this case, scientists looked at the muscles around each subject’s eyes that produce “crow’s feet.” Apparently, these telltale eye wrinkles reveal our truest reactions to humor.
While breaking into a huge smile or busting out laughing is bound to make you feel good, you may notice over time that your eye wrinkles are adding up along with those big expressions—and some of the lines stick around even after the funny moment has passed.
So what’s the good news to smile about? When it comes to the aging face, preventing wrinkles is actually far easier, less painful and a lot cheaper than you might imagine. To minimize the appearance of crow’s feet, try REDEFINE ACUTE CARE Skincare for Expression Lines featuring line-defying peptides and hyaluronic acid. Apply three times a week before bed for four weeks to wake up with smoother, younger-looking skin.

Ever get the sense that today’s men are more forthright than ever about swapping skincare tips and manicure hotspots? You’re not imagining it. From “manscaping” to “manscara,” research shows that men are increasingly taking cues from women in the grooming department as they become more invested (and invest more money!) in their overall appearance.
Marketing company JWT Intelligence recently surveyed 1,000 men in the U.S. and U.K. and found that many are shedding old stereotypes about gender roles and expectations.
So just how far will men go to stay competitive in the looks department? Much depends on a man’s age. Millennials are definitely taking the lead in terms of image-conscious self-styling, with more young men embracing the must-have “man bag” and “man bun.” And according to the JWT study, 22 percent of the 18 – 34 generation think eyebrow waxing is perfectly acceptable for a man to use versus a mere 4 percent among Baby Boomers.
Men are also becoming more receptive to new skincare habits that can improve their appearance. JWT reports that, according to the most recent data, U.S. men underwent 1.25 million cosmetic procedures, reflecting a 5% year-over‐year increase. For skincare, while a quarter of men still prefer to skip out altogether, there are 54 percent that use moisturizer, eye cream and other skincare products.

For acne sufferers facing clogged pores, inflammation and pigmentation, the reality of clear skin often seems out of reach—so discovering a solution can feel life-changing.
Rodan + Fields® Consultant Jasmine Trotter understands firsthand the ups and downs of acne treatments: “Before trying UNBLEMISH Regimen, I had given up on my skincare because every product I used just further irritated my acne. They either made my face too oily or too dry, and none of them cleared up my acne.”
In the weeks leading up to her college graduation, she was introduced to Rodan + Fields products by her cousin. As Jasmine prepared for a big transition in her academic life, she realized it was time to take control of her blemishes. “I was ready to enter into the world with my new degree and clear skin.”

Jasmine noticed a big difference after using UNBLEMISH Regimen for only a month. With regular use of the products, she no longer experiences severe breakouts. “People don’t even remember that I used to suffer from acne because my skin is so flawless now,” she says.
With these positive results, she’s also happy to continue her makeup-free routine. “I’ve always been a person who likes to wear just my natural skin. Because of Rodan + Fields, I will never have to cover it up because my skin is already beautiful.” For Jasmine, the benefits to having a clear complexion even go beyond appearances: “Having flawless skin is the best feeling to have because when you look good, you do good.”
